A New Generation of Giving

A New Generation of Giving

Common Coin is the new way to support important humanitarian, environmental and animal causes. And a fresh start to excite more people to give. That's why we decided to give ourselves, and support this young non-profit with strategy, a shiny new look and a complete branding package through our STUDIO HOEKSTRA GRANT 2021. We recommend Common Coin to anyone who wants to donate, be it this year or next!

SBNE

SBNE

The Stabsstelle Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is a municipal department that wants to make Berlin more sustainable. We developed a new, colourful corporate design that also interacts with the branding of the city of Berlin. We were even asked to design the logo and name for the new Picknickflitzer!

LÜCHTENHOF

LÜCHTENHOF

LÜCHTENHOF is a place for light and darkness.

And for the transformation that happens in between. 700 years ago, the candles for Hildesheim's processions were drawn here. From 2022, LÜCHTENHOF is growing into a place for the arts, monastic spirituality and founding culture - with a fresh, contemporary branding that embraces this versatility.

Rat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung

Rat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung

Sustainability must be seen as the most urgent global challenge of our time, and not just since the 6th IPCC report. The German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) has been successfully advancing the issue for two decades now. We gave the studies and publications of RNE's Global Forum a brand new look. And how else to do this than digital first: the physical publications were redefined as interactive, digital presentations.

Berliner Stadtmission

Berliner Stadtmission

The Berlin City Mission is the largest social institution in Berlin.

When we were asked to present their extensive, wonderful work in the form of an annual report, we decided it was about time their stories were told through powerful photographs. We have been photographing and designing ever since, and we’re happy that one of many great outcomes was a poster campaign of unprecedented success, which can now be seen all over Berlin every year.

Literaturhaus St. Jakobi Hildesheim

Literaturhaus St. Jakobi Hildesheim

St. Jacobi Hildesheim, where writers and readers come together.

We chose a symbol for this interaction: the highlighter. Since 2013 it's been changing its colour with the season — like the printing plates in Hildesheim. This bright approach resonates in a particularly weighty place: the 500-year-old pilgrims' church seems to be firmly attached to the city in which it stands. In 2022 – after almost ten years of successful collaboration, it was time for a new website and a slight freshen up, so here's a first glimpse of the outcome.

#️⃣freiwilliginberlin

#️⃣freiwilliginberlin

Berlin has more than 1.1 million volunteers. That's more than public transport subscribers or streetlights or apartment buildings. So much honorary commitment deserves respect and support. Berlin's volunteer agencies bring people who want to get involved together with those who are happy to participate and support them. Because nothing holds our society together like voluntary work. We are proud to present our campaign which was developed in happy cooperation with Social Social.

International Justice Mission

International Justice Mission

IJM is a global organization partnering with local justice systems all around the world to free people trapped in slavery.

And we're fighting with them, best we can. Since 2017, we've been developing their strategic solutions, branding, printed material and online campaigns. The Instagram #freedomcount works like this: whenever a person in the world is freed from slavery, IJM posts a blue post 🟦. With this simple mechanic IJM now reaches a vast audience, with more and more supporters joining the good cause with their time and resources. Be part of it!

Das Prinzip Apfelbaum

Das Prinzip Apfelbaum

When talking about inheriting for a good cause, you're talking about death and money.

Or in other words - about planting in your own autumn so that others may reap in spring. Das Prinzip Apfelbaum — Mein Erbe tut Gutes. In 2013 we developed the name, look & feel of the initiative, which started with 5 NGOs and today has over 20 member organisations. Since then things have progressed: a website, all printed matter as well as an exhibition, a catalogue and a regular online magazine, which we developed in friendly collaboration with the agency DFC, whose branding & website we got to create along the way. 🤜 🤛

Für Hamburgs Kinder

Für Hamburgs Kinder

For almost 175 years, the honorable Pestalozzi-Stiftung has been actively caring for Hamburg's children. With its 28 youth facilities and 9 daycare centers, it supports families throughout the city - the pandemic has now made the work even more challenging and urgent.

This makes it all the more important that the Pestalozzi Foundation can count on the support of Hamburg's people in its mission. We were able to help with the creation of a campaign that provides accessible information on the topic of inheriting for a good cause. And - when the lockdown is over - it gets personal: Christian, the foundation's chairman, is happy to drop by for a game of chess. Or a game of checkers, which he likes even better.

KKHS

KKHS

Kirchenkreis Hildesheim-Sarstedt asked itself how a church with all its history can present itself today.

We answered: like this. Thanks to Felix Bork for kindly sketching Johannes Bugenhagen, who in 1542 was surprised how well the people of Hildesheim knew the forbidden songs of the Reformation when he founded the KKHS - and made it a force for equal education and social welfare.

Strassenfeger

Strassenfeger

Strassenfeger is an iconic part of Berlin.

Until 2018, it was Germany's best know street paper. At the same time, Strassenfeger was and is much more: an emergency shelter, a housing project, healthy leftover meals — and great people with helping hands. We were happy to lend a hand ourselves in developing a fresh new look and warm hats, made an der Küste. And: hopefully, we’ll see a street paper revival soon!

Social Social

Social Social

We aim to make social causes successful in social media.

So with our claim "MAKE SOCIAL SOCIAL!" we conducted a series of studies with our friends Kemmler Kemmler that examine the social media activities of NGOs. This initiative turned into a full-service agency that develops campaigns on all platforms. We now have a great team working on projects for the Diakonie, the EU, the Bethel Foundation, the Red Cross, the NABU, and a bank robbery - to name a few. And we’re just getting started.

EKD Zukunftsforum 2020

EKD Zukunftsforum 2020

The future may bring the church less members. And less money.

So this raises an essential question: what will the church of the future offer its people? And what could a future church look like? The EKD Future Forum 2020 is on a mission to deal with these and other issues. While developing visual resonance for the conference, our new foundation SOCIAL SOCIAL threw itself into a hotly debated digital storm.

WWF Weltwald

WWF Weltwald

Ohne Wald keine Welt.

midi

midi

There is new department linking the Diakonie and the EKD - and it is called midi.

This youthful little boat is intended to link the two large tankers — and accompany and guide them on their joint, promising journey. We joined forces with our new agency SOCIAL SOCIAL to help this project with the overall look and design — as well as producing stunning Imagery.

Sharehaus Refugio

Sharehaus Refugio

Old Berliners and newcomers: at Refugio, long time residents live and work with people who have recently had to leave flee their homes and are new to Germany.

This co-living and -working space offers strong team spirit and strong coffee. Sharehaus Refugio was founded by Sven & Elke and is part of the Berlin City Mission. We joined as part of the core team for the first few years and gave them a fresh look and all-new website. Our favourite project: the front façade — where we gold-plated the tags and bombings, in the spirit of hope - that fractures, no matter biographical or urban, can be turned into something good.
